Our Process
The accreditation process implemented by IAA-AB accommodates all types and sizes of organizations, regardless of geographical location, and can be granted internationally. All applicants are required to follow IAA-AB‘s policies and rules.
The accreditation procedure involves four key stages:
Application
The application phase begins with the submission of the accreditation form by the applicant. IAA-AB reviews the application, engages for any clarifications, and the Accreditation Committee prepares a report. A joint decision is made by the management and committee, and the applicant is informed of the next steps.
Assessment
In the assessment phase, IAA-AB schedules and confirms the assessment dates, followed by a site visit. The management system of the conformity assessment body is reviewed, and a detailed report is generated outlining areas of conformance and non-conformance. Any identified issues must be addressed with corrective actions, which are reassessed if necessary.
Accreditation
In the accreditation phase, the Accreditation Committee evaluates the assessment report to decide whether to grant accreditation. Once approved, IAA-AB notifies the applicant and issues the accreditation certificate with the scope of services. The accredited organization's details are then updated in the IAA-AB registry.
Surveillance
In the surveillance phase, the accreditation certificate remains valid for four years, with annual surveillance audits scheduled to ensure ongoing compliance. After five years, a re-accreditation process begins, renewing the contract for another four-year term.
